Our own Lynn Schade, Executive Director, and Stephanie Maze-Hsu, Project Manager, collaborated with two other leaders in the field of educational literacy to write a chapter in the newly released book: “Best Practices of Literacy Leaders: Keys to School Improvement” edited by Allison Swan Dagen and Rita M. Bean.
Lynn and Stephanie’s chapter, “Sustaining Literacy Practices That Transform Teaching and Learning,” describes how a shared, clearly articulated vision, a collaborative culture, and mutual accountability are the keys to the sustainability of a literacy improvement initiative.
They discuss common problems and suggest solutions that literacy leaders can nurture to provide lasting change in their districts. We hope all our partner districts share our excitement, and will find our chapter, and the rest of the book, personally and professionally helpful!
