Who We Are

Our Story

Teaching and Learning Alliance, Inc. (TLA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization of K-12 educators who provide in-school coaching and leadership training at primary and secondary schools throughout New England and the United States. Formerly known as CACD and part of the Eliot-Pearson Department of Child Development at Tufts University, TLA has a 23-year history pursuing its mission of ensuring that all children, irrespective of background, receive the educational preparation necessary to become successful, thoughtful, and engaged citizens.

Through a dynamic partnership model, TLA supports the development of exemplary educators, visionary school leaders, and high-achieving students. Together, we co-construct a customized professional development trajectory and multi-year implementation plan built to evolve as student, teacher, and administrator needs change over time.

Our Approach

Our customized professional development services reflect our belief in differentiated instruction for all learners, whether they be students or educators. We initiate partnerships with a visit to your district or school to understand strengths, challenges, goals, and history. We then personalize professional learning activities to meet the diverse needs and interests of your faculty.

TLA co-constructs the professional learning experience with district or school educators. Teachers and school administrators participate in the design and delivery of the professional development. A TLA Project Manager works closely with district or school leaders to design ongoing professional learning experiences customized to address your needs.
